Doppler shift compensation
"The emission of echolocation calls at frequencies lower than the hearing sensitivity of teh acoustic fovea so that the upward shift in frequency of the echo, as a result of teh relative velocity of teh bat to the target, ensures that frequency of teh echo is within frequency range of the acoustic fovea."
