Tartarogryllus tartarus
Behaviour:
The male sings in teh afternoon and during the night. The song consits of a series of loud sharp melodiou s'kre'-sounds (echemes), repeated fiarly regularly at a rate of about 4-5/s. All echemes in a series are equal, consisting of four syllables, repeated at arate if 50-65/s. The first syllable of the echeme is fainter than the following ones. The frequency spectrum shows a peak frequency between 5.7 and 6.4 kHz. [1]
