Similarly, in the Hawaiian tree cricket Leptogryllus ookala, a member of an unusual deaf-mute genus that lacks metanotal gland feeding, postcopulatory movement by mounted females increases the rate of male tremulation and cercal tapping, which, in turn, induces female quiescence (W Brown, unpublished data).
