Nemobius sylvestris

Behaviour:

The song, which can be heard well into autum, is a very melodious, purring 'rurr', which lasts about 0.25 to 2 sec. and is repeated for minutes at a time with an occassional short interruption. The rhythym of the song is very reminscent or Morse signals. Its direction and distance are very difficult to judge. When several insects are singing together, it is almost impossible to locate one of the singers. [1]
