Literature

Driessen, Michael M (2018). The life cycle of a southern hemisphere cricket Bobilla poene (Orthoptera: Gryllidae) and variation in its size, sex ratio and egg production. Austral Entomology.

Diagnostic

Only three species of Bobilla are known from Tasmania, and only adult males can be used to separate them (Otte & Alexander 1983). A compound microscope was used to perform stridulatory file counts on the forewings of 30 adult males at each site (total = 240) to confirm the identity of B. poene.
