| Naskrecki, Piotr; Guta, Ricardo (2019). Katydids (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae) of Gorongosa National Park and Central Mozambique. Zootaxa, 4682(1): 1 - 119. |
The call of G. carri is entirely ultrasonic and pure tone. It consists of a long train of syllables, sometimes paired, produced at the rate of 6–15/s; mean syllable duration is 0.0407 (SD=0.00786, n=100), with a distinct and narrow frequency peak at 39.3–43.9 kHz (Figs. 49G–I). This species is one of the only two known ka- tydids in Gorongosa with the call that is entirely ultrasonic (the second one is Phaneroptera parva Ragge, 1956).
Stridulatory file weakly bent, 0.8 mm long, 0.045 mm wide, with 50 teeth (Fig. 12D).
