Caledopsalta garrula

Three different records where analysed to described the male calling of Caledopsalta garrula sp. nov. The male calling song (Fig. 22) is composed of sequences lasting about 6 to 7 s and separated from each other by between 6.8 and 8 s (or more) of si- lence. A sequence is introduced by a short phrase where 3 or 4 echemes are emitted with progressive acceleration; the second phrase is a regular succession of groups of pulses emitted at a rate of 66 groups per second. The frequency ranges from 8000 to > 25 000 Hz. The main power is located between 15 000 to 21 000 Hz, and the maximum of energy is located around 17 000 Hz [1].
