Melanogryllus desertus
Males sing during the day and night. The song consists of a series of melodious 'krrtree'-sounds (echemes), repeated more or less regularluy at intervals of about 1-2 x. The echeme consosts of 12-13 syllables of which the first 8-10 are quiet and the final 2-4 are loud. A courtship song is unknown. [1]
